Position Summary:

The Senior Tax Consultant is tasked with guiding clients through the complexities of tax implications related to their business goals. This role involves evaluating various strategies to minimize tax liabilities and compliance costs, while serving as the primary contact for intricate tax matters. The Senior Tax Consultant will leverage their expertise to identify potential tax challenges and communicate risks and changes in tax legislation effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead, manage, and hold team members accountable (LMA)

· Understand and assist in executing growth strategies (research calls, pipeline management, COPs, etc.)

· Oversee engagement management, including project management, billing, and ensuring quality control (technical) standards

· Maintain client relations (meet deadlines, ensure timely communication)

· Develop the engagement team (prepare seniors for advancement)

Essential Functions:

· Conduct thorough reviews of engagement work papers and tax returns for corporations and partnerships.

· Effectively supervise and mentor staff in return preparation

· Demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant IRC sections and regulations

· Cultivate expertise in responding to tax authority inquiries and client representation

· Manage multiple engagements concurrently

· Oversee client accounts, including billing, fee analysis, and service development

· Provide constructive feedback to mentors and team members

· Research complex tax issues and communicate findings clearly

· Meet demanding client expectations and deliver outstanding service

· Exhibit excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills

· Identify new business development opportunities and enhance existing client services

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required; Master of Tax preferred

· At least 4 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm or similar environment

· CPA license required or J.D., LL.M, or EA required

· Experience with partnership and C corporation taxation – both compliance and consulting preferred.

· Previous experience in supervising and training staff and seniors preferred

· Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong organizational skills are essential

· Highly motivated with experience in managing multiple client engagements

· Must establish visibility and recognition within their industry specialization

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
