Additionally, the Senior Tax Consultant plays a vital role in the professional growth and mentorship of designated tax personnel while supporting all client relations and practice enhancement initiatives during the engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review diverse tax filings
  • Assist in tax strategy initiatives
  • Take ownership of tax-related projects and act as the main resource for tax staff and interns
  • Evaluate team members' outputs and provide constructive feedback to ensure documentation is correctly prepared for managerial approval
  • Delegate and optimize tasks effectively; clarify the purpose and objectives of assignments to staff, manage expectations of both staff and clients, and ensure timely completion of designated projects
  • Offer training, feedback, and developmental opportunities for staff and interns
  • Assist in evaluating the tax implications and advantages for proposed business ventures
  • Engage in transfer pricing activities and other specialized projects
  • Conduct research on technical matters using regulatory and source materials through electronic databases regarding issues that arise in tax planning and compliance. Share findings with team members and may serve as a subject matter expert in specific areas of the process
  • Prepare and review initial drafts of tax correspondence and notices
  • Ensure tax filings are completed in accordance with the stipulations of various governing documents and applicable federal and state regulations
  • Utilize the Firm's software to streamline the data transfer process from the trial balance to financial statements and ultimately for tax return preparation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related discipline
  • Current CPA license is preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant tax experience
  • Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Japanese, is a plus
