We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Specialist/Overnight to join our team at The Kennedy Collective. As a key member of our residential team, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with disabilities in a residential setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, including toileting, feeding, and cleaning.
- Assist with daily living skills, such as meal preparation, household chores, and leisure activities.
- Ensure individuals' medical, dental, and dietary needs are met, and their plans of service are followed.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by doctors and in accordance with agency policies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of individual program plans.
- Record and maintain accurate records of program and behavioral data, medical and medication records, and other relevant information.
- Communicate effectively with team members, parents/guardians, and community providers to ensure seamless care and support.
- 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities in a residential setting.
- Valid driver's license and ability to possess a State of CT Public Service License.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and provide physical intervention as needed.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and the internet.
- Physical endurance to use physical crisis intervention techniques and provide hands-on personal care.
The Kennedy Collective invests in the success of all new employees by providing an immersive new hire orientation and training experience. This includes:
- Two-week new hire orientation, including an introduction to the agency, site tours, and employer-funded CPR & PMT certification.
- Two weeks of job-specific trainings and shadowing at your worksite.
- Check-ins with Human Resources after your first 30, 60, and 90 days.
