Nursing Department Director

At Front Porch Communities and Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Department Director to lead our nursing services team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with current State and Federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and supervise nursing services to ensure high-quality care delivery to residents.
- Recruit, hire, schedule, supervise, counsel, and evaluate all nursing service employees according to established policies and procedures.
- Ensure 24-hour provision of nursing services within Federal, State, and company requirements based on acuity of residents.
- Supervise the health care services and programs to residents.
- Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges with other departments and community agencies.
- Direct and supervise utilization of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) contracts.
- Supervise and participate in resident interdisciplinary care plan conferences.
- Supervise documentation in resident health records and reviews scheduled audits.
- Participate in budget planning and monitoring of fee scheduling and charging for services and cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Responsible for orientation and ongoing inservice education of all nursing staff.
- Provide professional management to State and Federal survey process following up with writing and implementing plans of correction.
- Work closely with the Director of Quality Assurance and consultants to provide geriatric health programs and services.
- Promote stimulation, comfortable, uplifting environments for residents, families, and staff.
- Develop and revise Nursing Policy and Procedure Manuals as needed.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse - California Education with
- Three years of nurse supervisory experience. Current knowledge of all required State and Federal assisted living regulations.
