Position Overview

The University of North Carolina is seeking a dedicated and qualified pediatrician with expertise in child abuse to join our esteemed Child Maltreatment Section within the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (GPAM). This role is pivotal in enhancing our clinical programs focused on child maltreatment and will also involve educational responsibilities for residents and medical students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and expand both inpatient and outpatient clinical programs addressing child maltreatment.
  • Engage in educational activities for medical trainees, fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the growth of faculty expertise in areas related to child abuse and neglect.
  • Potentially assume leadership roles within the Child Maltreatment Section based on experience.

The GPAM division is recognized for its innovative clinical care, advocacy efforts, and a robust research portfolio. It comprises a diverse team, including board-certified child abuse pediatricians, generalist pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and social workers, all committed to excellence in patient care and education.
