About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to join our team in New York, NY. As a key member of our support team, you will be responsible for providing real-time financial application support across U.S. markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support global markets risk and batch systems with a focus on in-house developed Java applications built on UNIX.
- Be the first point of contact for front office personnel to resolve issues with risk analysis and reporting tools.
- Work closely with users, answering their queries and raising development requests as needed.
- Escalate and resolve production issues in a timely manner using fundamental problem management disciplines.
- Liaise between applications users and technology teams to address user queries and issues.
- Analyze new requirements or improvements to current systems based on user feedback.
- Develop and maintain documentation as a knowledge base for training and incident management.
We are looking for an experienced professional with:
- Enterprise production support experience working in a Level 2 and/or 3 Incident, Problem, Release management support capacity.
- Ability to manage high pressure and frequent business and technology changes.
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience of UNIX/Linux OS, Relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server), and applications developed in Java or Python.
- Scripting knowledge within UNIX/Linux OS and for automating tasks.
- Experience with application monitoring tools such as Geneos ITRS and batch job scheduling tools like Autosys.
