Housekeeping Room Attendant

Job Overview:


The Housekeeping Room Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of guest accommodations.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:


  • Strong service orientation with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Effective communication abilities to share information clearly.
  • Capability to comprehend and follow instructions related to cleaning agents.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of cleaning tools and chemicals.

*Availability for weekend evenings and holidays is required.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Receive room assignments from the Supervisor at the start of the shift.
  • Ensure the cleaning cart is adequately stocked and organized.
  • Understand the proper protocol for entering guest rooms.
  • Position the cart correctly when entering a room to maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Adhere to a systematic approach for cleaning both occupied and vacated rooms to ensure thoroughness.
  • Inspect rooms for any damage to furniture or equipment.
  • Promptly report any damages or missing items to the Supervisor.
  • Return any found items from guest rooms to Lost and Found, documenting the date, location, and finder’s name.

  • Conduct a final inspection of the room before leaving.
  • Notify the Housekeeping team of the room's status, whether clean, occupied, or vacant.
  • Restock the cleaning cart and dispose of any trash and soiled linens at the end of the shift to prepare for the next day.
  • Address guest inquiries and provide assistance as needed.
  • Guide guests with directions and information upon request.
  • Report any suspicious activities or unsafe conditions to the Safety/Security Department.
  • Offer guidance for guest and employee safety during emergencies.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
