The UHealth Tower is actively seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist 2.

The selected candidate will provide patient-centered care with a focus on cultural competence, employing evidence-based practices to ensure quality, safety, and service tailored to diverse patient populations.


CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Evaluates assigned patients and formulates care plans, ensuring thorough documentation of nursing interventions.
  • Monitors and reports on changes in patients' conditions and vital signs.
  • Adjusts treatment plans based on patient responses and physician directives.
  • Reviews and interprets diagnostic tests to assess patient health status.
  • Collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams to develop, implement, and assess patient care strategies.
  • Prepares patients for examinations and assists with medical procedures.
  • Considers the age and cultural background of patients when delivering care and provides necessary information regarding treatment plans.
  • Fosters a supportive environment by offering psychological assistance to patients.
  • Conducts necessary patient tests and administers medications safely within the scope of practice.
  • Maintains accurate records of medications and treatments in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Communicates care plans effectively to patients, families, and team members, adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
  • Utilizes best practices for patient care transitions and resource management for discharge planning.
  • Organizes and prioritizes tasks to achieve patient care objectives; seeks assistance when required.
  • Adapts to evolving work demands and operates medical equipment as necessary.
  • Complies with institutional policies and procedures, safeguarding organizational assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Certification and Licensing:
Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM
The Executive Health Department is dedicated to providing personalized care to our patients.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will assess both the physical and psychosocial aspects of patients in an outpatient setting through interviews, health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.

Assists physicians with medical procedures, including blood draws, vital signs, and comprehensive nursing assessments.


  • Evaluates patients and formulates care plans, ensuring documentation of nursing interventions.

Monitors and reports on changes in patients' conditions and vital signs. Adjusts treatment plans based on patient responses and physician orders.


  • Organizes and prioritizes tasks to achieve patient care objectives; seeks assistance when required.
  • Administers medications and maintains accurate records in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Manages prescription refills and referrals for all providers as necessary.
  • Provides message coverage for providers as needed.
  • Maintains electronic medical records and closes encounters promptly.
  • Performs phlebotomy, EKGs, immunizations, and other necessary procedures.
  • Responsible for communicating results and instructions to patients.
  • Collaborates with clinical and non-clinical team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Interacts with patients professionally, particularly high-profile individuals.
  • Experience in outpatient nursing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is advantageous.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Adapts to changing work demands and anticipates potential challenges.
  • Complies with departmental policies and procedures, safeguarding organizational assets.
  • Willingness to travel between various locations as needed.
Department Specific Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Certification and Licensing:
Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)

Experience:
At least two years of nursing experience.
