CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Conducts assessments of assigned patients and evaluates care plans, ensuring thorough documentation of nursing interventions and reporting any changes in patients' conditions.
  • Adjusts treatment plans based on patient responses, conditions, and physician directives.
  • Reviews and interprets diagnostic tests to evaluate patient health status.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and assess patient care strategies.
  • Prepares patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, providing necessary support.
  • Takes into account patient age and cultural background during care delivery and offers relevant information regarding treatment plans.
  • Fosters a supportive environment by providing emotional and psychological assistance to patients.
  • Performs necessary patient tests and administers medications safely within the scope of practice.
  • Maintains accurate records of medications and treatments in compliance with regulatory standards and physician orders.
  • Communicates care plans effectively to patients, families, and team members, ensuring adherence to all regulatory guidelines.
  • Utilizes available resources to assist in discharge planning for patients.
  • Organizes, prioritizes, and adjusts assignments to meet care objectives, seeking assistance when necessary.
  • Operates medical equipment safely and serves as a mentor to new staff, aiding their transition into patient care roles.
  • Complies with UHealth Tower policies and procedures, safeguarding institutional assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.

Certification and Licensing:
Florida Registered Nurse License
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification (ACLS)
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
  • Proficient in medical terminology.
  • Familiar with nursing care methods and procedures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety protocols (e.g., sanitation, decontamination).
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve various challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills in both oral and written formats.
