Managed Service Provider Transition Project Leader

Job Overview

As a Project Manager focused on Managed Service Provider (MSP) transition initiatives, you will collaborate closely with the Transition Manager, MSP Transition Leader, and advisory services team to guarantee the effective implementation of the transition project from one MSP to another.


Your main responsibility will be to partner with the MSP Transition Leader to oversee the comprehensive coordination, planning, and execution of the project. This involves working in tandem with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition while maintaining service quality, as well as supporting the Transition Manager in preparing the new MSP to meet contractual obligations.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, or a related discipline. Proven track record as a Project Manager, especially in managing IT transitions or similar projects.
  • Strong project management capabilities with expertise in project management tools. Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Transition Manager and cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework and industry best practices.

Experience & Skills

  • Over 5 years of experience in project management.
  • 3+ years of experience working with managed service providers.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management and strategic planning.
  • 5+ years of experience in formal team leadership and transformation & transition programs.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevOps practices.
  • Certification in ITIL V4 or V3.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to informally lead project teams.
  • Strong leadership skills and strategic thinking at a global level.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of engaging effectively at all organizational levels; this includes both written and verbal communication as well as visual presentations.
  • Positive customer service orientation with a proven ability to manage high-pressure support needs calmly and efficiently.
  • Ability to present with authority, influence stakeholders, and mentor remote teams while respecting diverse perspectives.
  • Robust technical experience enabling the review of project requirements, technical specifications, and action plans, translating these into process requirements and execution.
  • Experience working with diverse, global, cross-functional, and cross-cultural teams.
  • Ability to set and meet agreed deadlines while conducting thorough research into product and service-related issues.
  • An analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project/program management techniques and methodologies.
