Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to join our Sleep Disorders Center Team as a Sleep Center Specialist. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical support to patients with sleep disorders, working closely with our Collaborating Physicians to assess, diagnose, and manage patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct evaluations for new and established outpatients and inpatients, ordering consultations and laboratory studies as needed.
  • Maintain continuity of care for outpatient and hospitalized patients, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication with healthcare teams.
  • Order sleep laboratory studies, explain results, and recommend indicated treatments to patients.
  • Communicate findings, diagnostic impressions, and treatment plans to patients and referring physicians through in-person and telephone interactions.
  • Document patient interactions in outpatient and inpatient charting systems, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Enhance patient compliance with positive airway therapy, non-invasive ventilation, and other treatment modalities, collaborating with respiratory therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to achieve patient care goals.
  • Provide education to physician, medical student, and other trainees on service, developing and delivering patient education related to sleep disorders through one-on-one sessions, conferences, and community activities.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in a relevant field.
  • National Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Two years of experience as a registered nurse, preferably in pulmonary, sleep, or related areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of clinical and organizational skills/techniques, as well as hospital ancillary department functions, acquired through previous education and/or experience in a related field.
