Job Summary:

The Department of Medicine/Division of Sleep Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Health System is seeking a highly qualified CRNP to join our clinical practice. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, a strong interest in education, and a passion for providing high-quality care to patients with sleep disorders.

Responsibilities:

Provides direct clinical care to patients with obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, and other common sleep disorders.
Maintains accurate and confidential medical records, documenting all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations in the electronic health record (EHR).
Identifies self properly to the patient and family, clarifying the role of the nurse practitioner or physician assistant if necessary.
Functions within their scope and refers to the collaborating/supervising physician when outside of scope, or as directed by the physician or requested by the patient and/or family.
Participates in performance improvement processes to meet quality of care and service standards.
Demonstrates awareness of professional responsibility as a role model to peers and members of the healthcare team.
Performs approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on the patient's clinical status.
Addresses patient and family concerns, creating a therapeutic relationship to provide support.
Provides patient education, counseling, and instruction regarding patient diagnosis, medical treatments, medications, and preventative care.
Participates in and supports accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization.
Precepts students and other healthcare learners.
Identifies patient/family needs for community resources and refers appropriately.

Requirements:

Master's Degree in Nursing required.
CRNP: Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Nursing required, with > 2.5 years of experience.
National Board Certification required.
BLS/CPR, as a healthcare provider, as per the American Heart Association, required.
PA and/or NJ CRNP licensure required.
PA and/or NJ Prescriptive Authority required.
PA and/or NJ RN licensure required.
