Role Summary

The Electrical Construction Supervisor will oversee, coordinate, and manage the field and/or administrative aspects of construction projects.

This role entails providing technical guidance and ensuring accountability for safety, cost management, productivity, profitability, and the overall quality of work performed on the assigned projects.

The Supervisor will set productivity benchmarks, assess performance, and schedule labor, materials, and equipment, including subcontractor work, while potentially supervising multiple field superintendents.

This position offers a structured career path, with levels of responsibility based on project complexity and individual experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in evaluating shop drawings, submittals, subcontract change orders, and purchase orders.

- Collaborate with the Project Manager to create the Project Management Plan (PMP), encompassing project scope, procurement, environmental considerations, time management, financial oversight, quality assurance, safety protocols, and risk management strategies.

- Conduct weekly coordination meetings with project teams and subcontractors, and prepare daily field status updates.
- Document constructability challenges, potential design conflicts, and necessary clarifications with relevant personnel.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive construction plan to ensure successful project execution.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions while maintaining profitability.
- Foster effective communication with owners, teams, and stakeholders to create a positive project atmosphere and enhance client satisfaction.
- Oversee field operations, ensuring project success in terms of profitability, safety, schedule adherence, quality, and customer satisfaction.

- Prepare and regularly update the original CPM Project Schedule, ensuring it reflects current project status while utilizing LEAN methodologies and Weekly Work Plans.

- Proactively identify and mitigate potential claims, documenting and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project team members and subcontractors, ensuring focused execution of project objectives.

- Develop and implement the Project Quality Management and Safety plans in accordance with Sundt standards as part of the PMP.

- Ensure timely completion of all punch lists and create schedules as required for successful project start-up and system commissioning.


Minimum Qualifications

- Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential.
- A four-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and relevant experience is required.

- Comprehensive knowledge of construction practices (technology, equipment, and methods), negotiation, engineering principles, cost control, scheduling, and safety regulations is necessary.

- Prior experience in construction project management and supervision in similar facilities is required.

- Experience with water/wastewater treatment projects is essential.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is mandatory (including but not limited to steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, vests, etc.).
- Frequent reaching above shoulder height and below waist level.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, or bending.
- Limited use of telecommunication devices, computers, or other electronic tools for communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Compliance with all safety standards and procedures is required.
- Occasional climbing of stairs, ladders, etc.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, lifting, handling, or carrying objects.
- Regular interaction with colleagues and stakeholders throughout the workday.
- Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk short distances for the duration of the workday.
