About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team at PCL Construction. As an Electrical Superintendent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Collaborate with project managers to implement PCL's safety program, integrate safety protocols into site plans and procedures, and adhere to safety and record-keeping requirements.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise, direct, coach, train, and mentor project teams, including direct and indirect reports.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with own forces and trades to ensure performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify, manage, and resolve potential problems, work conflicts, and schedule challenges.
  • Collaboration: Consistently collaborate with construction/project managers and project teams to anticipate and resolve issues.
  • Client Liaison: Liaise between field engineers, estimators, subcontractors, clients, and other site contractors to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
  • Project Oversight: Visualize and convey the project vision, identify the critical path, and drive the project schedule.
  • Resource Management: Oversee and manage the development and implementation of Project Execution Plans (PEPs) and resource-loaded three-week lookahead schedules.
  • Contract Management: Review and understand contracts and subcontracts, develop plans to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities, and ensure compliance with budget and quality requirements.
  • Union Relations: Understand project labor agreements and build relationships with union and labor representatives.
Requirements
  • Education: Journeyman certificate or undergraduate/engineering degree in a related discipline. NCSO designation required (IND); enrollment in the Gold Seal program (CDN) preferred.
  • Experience: 15 years of progressive field supervision experience preferred.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, and methods and procedures.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and run effective site meetings, present at client meetings or for project pursuit work, and develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internal operational systems.
