About the Role

McGuireWoods LLP is seeking an experienced IT Procurement Specialist to join our Business Services team. The specialist will administer IT-focused procurement, including supplier relations, order and agreement negotiations, and the processing of purchase orders and invoices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Contract Management: Participate in IT projects, identify procurement needs, and coordinate the purchase and leasing of IT-related goods and services.
  • Financial Management: Review and process purchase orders, project invoices, maintenance renewals and subscriptions to ensure accuracy and proper billing procedures are followed.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Maintain vendor relationships, assist with customer service, and participate in vendor meetings.
  • Contract Negotiation: Follow established procedures to negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with vendors and assist in the negotiation of contract agreements, Statements of Work (SOWs), and renewal agreements to address changes in scope or organizational requirements.
  • Financial Acumen: Maintain knowledge of basic accounting functions and apply it to support job responsibilities.
  • Support and Escalation: Provide backup support to the IT Procurement Manager and escalate issues as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Procurement Knowledge: Familiarity with RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and standard contract terms, including SLAs, software agreements, SOWs, and project engagements.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent skills in negotiation, analysis, and organization.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Professional demeanor with outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, capable of effectively representing the firm while building strong relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment.
