LPN-Ortho/Spine Physical Rehabilitation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Ortho/Spine Physical Rehabilitation department at MetroHealth. As an LPN, you will provide direct nursing care to patients, residents, and families in accordance with the scope of the LPN license.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing services to patients, residents, and families in accordance with the scope of the LPN license.
- Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or a Physician in the assigned patient/resident care area.
- Uphold the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
- Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection.
- Manage/working EPIC In-basket, monitoring and directing patient flow, and providing patient care in a coordinated manner.
- Graduate of an approved School of Practical Nursing.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the State of Ohio through the Ohio Board of Nursing, including certification to pass medications, AND completion of an Ohio Board of Nursing IV therapy course.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), OR obtains within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to multi-task and manage patient care in a coordinated manner.
- 1 year of experience in an in-patient or long term care setting, as appropriate.
- Familiarity with rules and regulations associated with in-patient or long term care, as appropriate.
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to lift pounds with assistance. Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals.
