Lead AI Software Engineer

At ZeniMax Media, we are seeking a talented and experienced Senior AI Programmer to contribute to our innovative game development projects. Responsibilities
As a Senior AI Programmer, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with engineering, design, and art teams to define, develop, and refine AI systems and behaviors.
- Working alongside design and art teams to conceptualize, implement, and enhance various AI unit types.
- Partnering with the design team to establish and create test environments.
- Developing tools essential for advanced AI development.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the gaming industry.
- Proficiency in C++ programming.
- Experience with at least one shipped title where you were credited as a programmer.
- A solid foundation in low-level AI modules, navigation, collision, physics, and performance, with the capability to work on systems from inception to completion.
- Knowledge of AI methodologies such as Finite State Machines (FSMs), pathfinding, animation, collision detection, and physics.
- Experience in bringing AI units from concept to realization.
- Expertise in implementing AI-related content.
- Experience in creating custom test maps and level scripts.
- A strong commitment to code quality, documentation, and rigorous testing practices.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- A collaborative mindset with a strong work ethic and a team-oriented attitude.
- A genuine passion for game development and technology.
Preferred Skills
In addition to the qualifications listed above, the following skills are considered advantageous:
- Experience with current-generation console development.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Salary Range
The expected base salary for the Senior AI Programmer position ranges from $100,000 to $215,000 annually. ZeniMax Media maintains different salary ranges based on various work locations within the United States, ensuring competitive and consistent compensation across different geographic markets. The specific salary will depend on the candidate's primary work location and other relevant factors.
Employees at ZeniMax may also be eligible for additional rewards, such as merit increases and discretionary bonuses, based on individual performance.
