Responsibilities
As a Senior AI Programmer, your role will include:
- Collaborating with engineering, design, and art teams to define, develop, and refine AI systems and behaviors.
- Working alongside design and art teams to conceptualize, implement, and enhance various AI unit types.
- Partnering with the design team to establish and create test environments.
- Developing tools essential for advanced AI development.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the gaming industry.
- Proficiency in C++ programming.
- Experience with at least one shipped title where you were credited as a programmer.
- A solid understanding of low-level AI modules, navigation, collision, physics, and performance, with the capability to manage systems from inception to completion.
- Knowledge of AI methodologies, including finite state machines, pathfinding, animation, collision, and physics.
- Experience in bringing AI units from concept to final implementation.
- Expertise in creating custom test maps and level scripts.
- A strong commitment to code quality, thorough documentation, and effective testing practices.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- A collaborative mindset and a strong work ethic.
- A genuine passion for game development and technology.
Preferred Skills
Additional skills that would be beneficial include:
- Experience with current-generation console development.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Salary Range
The expected base pay range for this position is between $100,000 and $215,000 annually. This range reflects the potential base pay across various locations within the United States and may vary based on factors such as job complexity, responsibilities, and relevant experience.
At ZeniMax, certain roles may also be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases and discretionary bonuses, based on individual performance. Benefits may vary depending on employment nature and location, with U.S.-based employees having access to healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off, among other perks.
