Job Title: Power BI Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Developer to join our team at MidFirst Bank. As a Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing business intelligence solutions using Power BI tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between technology teams and business areas to troubleshoot and translate technical problems related to reports and report data.
  • Assist business users in functional and data requirements to enhance reports and report data.
  • Support business data experts on select data repositories and provide support for project implementations and modifications impacting data repositories.
  • Follow best practices and guidelines to support dashboards, metrics, scorecards, and reporting solutions, providing a high level of customer service with an emphasis on partnership and collaboration.
  • Investigate, review, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources to maintain quality and understand the source structures and business relevance of the data.
  • Perform analysis and design by translating business requirements and developing reporting and dashboard solutions that yield relevant business information in a user-friendly format.
  • Monitor recurring processes and ensure output accuracy and timely distribution.
  • Responsible for maintenance, documentation, and enhancements of recurring processes and procedures.
  • Follow best practices in data modeling and source-to-target mapping.
  • Perform planned maintenance on BI solutions and underlying infrastructure.
  • Ensure adequate security procedures are developed and followed.
  • Attention to detail to deliver a complete and correct solution within deadlines.
  • Contribute technical knowledge and understanding of applications to training programs, support processes, and operating procedures.
  • Ability to conduct report demonstrations and training sessions for business units and developers.
  • Ability to collaborate with BU development team to review data model & report specifications.

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or commensurate experience in Power BI dev.
  • 1-3 years of experience in complex development and scripting SQL.
  • 1-3 years of experience developing with advanced Power BI tools, including DAX, M, & Power Query.
  • 1-3 years of experience with advanced Power BI report development techniques, including bookmarking, selection pane, using buttons for page navigation, dynamic measures, and drill-through.
  • 1-3 years of experience developing reports, researching, analyzing, and problem-solving using end-user tools such as Paginated Reports Builder, Power BI Desktop, and Visual Studio.
  • 1-3 years of experience developing dashboard solutions with data visualizations in Microsoft Power BI desktop.
  • 1-3 years of experience using Visual Studio & SSMS to develop Analysis Services Tabular models.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure platform and service, including the creation and maintenance of ADF data ingestion pipelines, data quality pipelines, notification pipelines, Azure Logic Apps to refresh data models, and Synapse tables & views.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets.
  • Strong understanding and working experience establishing and maintaining RLS (Row Level Security) in Azure Analysis Services / Power BI tabular models.
  • Expertise with database and data warehouse designs, data modeling, data performance tuning, data integration, including ETL processes.
  • Knowledge and applied documentation experience with a variety of industry concepts, methodologies, and frameworks within data warehouse and business intelligence field, including requirements, source to target mapping, architecture, and design documentation.
  • Ability to manage the project lifecycle of report development from data identification, source data mapping, data staging, model development, report development, report publishing & report security.
  • Prefer familiarity with relational databases with the ability to create calculated members and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Experience with Tabular Editor and DAX Studio preferred.
