Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HR Payroll/Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team at Ascend Recruiting Partners. As an HR Payroll and Benefits Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll and benefits operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Benefits Administration: Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company benefits.
  • Benefits Orientations: Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits policies to new employees.
  • Employee Inquiries: Handle employee inquiries regarding benefits, eligibility, and claims.
  • Benefits Coordination: Coordinate with benefits providers and ensure timely processing of enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Monthly Benefits Reconciliation: Perform monthly benefits reconciliation.
  • HR Support: Assist the HR Manager with the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and scheduling interviews.
  • Employee Records: Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in the HRIS system.
  • Employee Onboarding and Offboarding: Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
  • Government Reports: Prepare and submit required government reports related to payroll and benefits.
  • Annual Benefits Statements: Assist in the preparation of annual benefits statements and other required documentation.
  • Payroll Processing: Accurately process bi-monthly payroll for all employees.
  • Payroll Records: Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Payroll Discrepancies: Address and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues.
  • Payroll Reports: Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed.
  • Employee Support: Provide support to employees regarding payroll and benefits issues.
  • Employee Concerns: Assist in resolving employee concerns and escalating issues to the HR Manager when necessary.
  • Employee Engagement: Participate in employee engagement and wellness initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration or other HR-related roles.
  • Payroll Software: Strong knowledge of payroll software and HRIS systems.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Employment Laws: Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Education: Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • HR Certifications: HR Professional certifications a plus.
