Position Summary

The Warehouse Operations Leader oversees the daily functions within the warehouse and production area, managing staff activities related to the receipt, storage, inventory management, and distribution of goods for both internal and external stakeholders. This role is crucial in establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures to ensure inventory accuracy and to enhance the overall quality, cost efficiency, and delivery performance of the Materials Group. The Warehouse Operations Leader utilizes Lean methodologies to identify challenges, propose solutions, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
  • Develop and uphold standard operating procedures and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct 5S, Standard Work, and inventory audits to pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Execute thorough root cause analyses using established problem-solving techniques and implement corrective actions.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise team members; manage performance evaluations, rewards, and disciplinary actions; oversee attendance and address employee concerns.
  • Generate, analyze, and share data to support key performance indicators.
  • Facilitate the adoption of safety and ergonomic enhancements, and sustainment of 5S practices.
  • Oversee departmental budget planning, including capital requisitions.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements in material management to optimize inventory levels.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of inventory control processes, including cycle counting.
Qualifications

  • Associate's degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within a distribution or warehouse environment.
  • Forklift operation certification is required.
  • Familiarity with shipping documentation, including Freight Bills and Packing Slips, is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP knowledge is advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
  • Strong coaching skills and a commitment to fostering a positive team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in the medical device industry or ISO/FDA regulated environments is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with MRP systems is desirable.
  • Prior supervisory experience is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
