Job Summary

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing inventory, assets, and warehouse operations in their local warehouses. They primarily manage this information using software tools such as Q360 and Equipment Management Software (EMS). They collaborate with the Inventory Controller and Purchasing Manager for inventory restocks, returns, and transfers, while overseeing their local Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) for hardware, operating supplies, and consumable restocks. This role actively forecasts inventory and resource needs for our work and manages tooling and kit requisitions and priorities. As the Warehouse Lead, they set priorities and establish daily and weekly objectives for their teams. They work closely with cross-functional teams to address and improve warehouse processes while upholding safety, cleanliness, and organization standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be Agile: Act as a crew lead, adapting to varying order and project demands by setting priorities and establishing daily and weekly objectives for the warehouse team. Coordinate with the Inventory Controller and Purchasing Manager for restocks, internal transfers, and any necessary inventory adjustments. Forecast needs and respond to changes in project requirements by managing tooling and kit requisitions for job sites using Equipment Management Software (EMS).
  • Own Your Job: Oversee the timely receiving, organizing, and shipping of materials from the warehouse, ensuring all activities are accurately documented and tracked within Q360. Manage the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) for hardware, operating supplies, and consumables, ensuring timely restocking and accurate tracking. Lead regular inventory counts and audits, documenting and recording adjustments accurately in Q360. Oversee the safe load of trucks, ensuring materials are properly secured to prevent damage during transportation. Maintain cleanliness, safety, and orderliness within the warehouse, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Learn and Grow: Organize and optimize warehouse layout and processes to ensure efficient order picking, packing, and shipping. Identify issues and areas for improvement within warehouse operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as the Inventory Controller and Operations Coordinators, to implement solutions. Engage in continuous learning and training to stay updated on best practices for inventory and warehouse management.
  • Do the Next Right Thing: Delegate tasks effectively, providing support, guidance, and training as needed to ensure the team's success. Proactively forecast upcoming demand based on available resources and project requirements, ensuring readiness for future needs. Maintain the tooling catalogue, schedule maintenance, and manage asset repairs and replacements efficiently to support overall operations.
Qualifications
  • Preferred Education and Experience: Education or Experience in logistics or supply chain management preferred. 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a supervisory or lead role. Proficiency with inventory and equipment management systems such as Q360 and other ERP software. Experience managing Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) processes, including restocking and reordering.
  • Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and delegate tasks effectively. Organizational expertise in optimizing warehouse layout and processes for efficiency. Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in inventory counts, audits, and documentation in our software. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, including safe truck loading and securing procedures. Technical proficiency in using warehouse management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items with assistance as needed. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving throughout the warehouse or sitting at a desk. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other tools. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to temperature fluctuations, noise, and dust.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift certification or other relevant certifications for warehouse equipment operation. OSHA safety certification or equivalent training in warehouse safety protocols.
