Expeditors Imports Division:

This division oversees all inbound air and ocean shipments for our clients. Collaborating closely with our customs team, domestic ground services, warehouses, customers, and vendors, the Imports team thrives in a dynamic environment filled with new challenges and experiences every day.

Key Responsibilities

An Import Transportation Agent at Expeditors may be responsible for:

  • Facilitating a seamless and timely freight process
  • Accurate and prompt data entry into our operating systems
  • Tracking and tracing air and ocean import files as necessary
  • Ensuring timely delivery of freight to clients for import shipments
  • Timely dispatch of documents to customers or brokers for customs clearance
  • Accurate and timely billing for clients and service providers
  • Engaging with customers to coordinate their international shipments while meeting service standards
  • Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, including airlines and trucking companies
  • Adhering to compliance regulations at all times, including internal policies and external government regulations
  • Understanding departmental workflows and continuously seeking areas for improved efficiency
  • Meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) as outlined by company procedures
  • Managing overseas communications with timely responses to internal and external requests
Qualifications

Preferred qualifications for an Import Transportation Agent at Expeditors include:

  • Interest in learning or relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen, comprehend, and communicate effectively
  • Proactive approach with excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Understanding of air documentation processes is a plus
