Position Overview:

The Radiation Oncology Physicist is responsible for overseeing safety protocols, assisting Radiation Oncologists and Therapists in the planning of treatment procedures, and ensuring that all equipment is accurately set up and calibrated upon installation. This role also involves the creation, implementation, and monitoring of advanced technologies for cancer radiation treatment.


Key Responsibilities:


Ensures that all supervised Associates are well-versed in current compliance policies, procedures, laws, and regulatory updates, emphasizing their obligation to adhere to these standards as a condition of employment. This includes the reporting mechanisms such as the corporate compliance hotline.

Facilitates compliance orientation for Associates and organizes ongoing specific risk training relevant to the department throughout the year.

Provides essential guidance on monitoring techniques to ensure compliance in supervised areas, including the submission of reports regarding suspected non-compliance to the Compliance Officer for further evaluation.


Minimum Qualifications:
Licensure:
  • Current Therapeutic Radiological Physicist license from the State of Florida
  • Membership in the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM)
Certification:
  • Master's degree in Physics (M.S.)
Skills:
  • Proficient in operating complex computerized equipment
  • Previous management experience in a hospital radiation oncology department
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and perform under pressure
