Position Overview

The Family Intervention Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting families through tailored interventions and counseling. This position involves:

  • Managing a manageable caseload of 4-6 families to ensure personalized attention.
  • Conducting family therapy sessions three times a week, scheduled at the convenience of the families.
  • Participating in three supervision meetings weekly to enhance service delivery.
  • Utilizing web-based documentation tools, including voice recognition technology, for efficient record-keeping.
  • Providing rotating on-call support to families during weekdays and weekends.
  • Traveling up to 60-80 miles to conduct home visits with families.
  • Delivering treatment in various community settings, ensuring accessibility for families.

Compensation and Benefits

Youth Villages New England offers a competitive salary, along with professional development workshops and additional stipends for on-call duties.

The schedule is flexible and designed around the availability of the youth and families served. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license, a personal vehicle for work-related travel, and auto insurance. Community-based staff will receive reimbursement for applicable mileage.

Salary

The annual salary for this position is $85,000, commensurate with education and clinical licensure.

Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • A Master's degree in a social services discipline is preferred, with at least one year of experience working with youth or families.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a social services discipline is required, along with two years of relevant experience.
  • Acceptable degrees include social work, drug and alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy. Other degrees will be evaluated for qualification.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
