Job Overview

Position Summary:
The TRIO Program Coordinator serves as a pivotal liaison and advocate for student participants, offering personalized advising and counseling. This role involves coordinating program initiatives and services in accordance with grant objectives to enhance student retention and success.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $44,673.56 to $67,010.34 annually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 30% Facilitate student selection and provide individualized advising/counseling, developing tailored Individual Success Plans.
  • 20% Collect project and participant data to implement retention initiatives aligned with SSS goals.
  • 20% Organize program workshops, campus activities, and college tours to fulfill SSS program objectives.
  • 15% Assist the Director in maintaining up-to-date project database information.
  • 10% Support the Program Director in preparing the Annual Performance Report.
  • 5% Engage in relevant college committees to promote SSS goals.

  • Collaborates effectively with other campus programs to support at-risk or disadvantaged students.

  • Contributes as a proactive member of the Student Support Services team.
  • Delivers high-quality presentations to inform staff and attract students.

Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of two to five years in a similar or related role.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.

Interpersonal Skills: The role requires courtesy, tact, and diplomacy, involving significant personal interaction for information exchange, relationship building, and cooperation.

Additional Skills: High sensitivity to target populations, along with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Personal or professional experience overcoming barriers similar to those faced by project participants is advantageous.

Physical Requirements: The position is primarily sedentary, with occasional walking, standing, and light lifting. No special physical demands are necessary.

Work Environment: Regular exposure to favorable conditions typical of an office setting.
