Role Summary:
The TRIO Program Coordinator serves as a primary advocate and liaison for student participants, delivering tailored advising and counseling. This role is pivotal in coordinating program initiatives and services aligned with grant objectives to enhance student retention and success.
Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from $44,673.56 to $67,010.34 annually.
Key Responsibilities:
- 30% Facilitate student selection processes and provide personalized advising/counseling, including the development of Individual Success Plans.
- 20% Collect and analyze project and participant data to support retention initiatives and programming aligned with SSS objectives.
- 20% Organize workshops, campus activities, and college tours to fulfill the SSS program goals.
- 15% Assist the Director in maintaining accurate data within the project database.
- 10% Support the Program Director in the preparation of the Annual Performance Report.
- 5% Engage in relevant college committees that contribute to achieving SSS goals.
Performance Metrics:
- Exhibit the core values of balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust.
- Adhere to all federal and state regulations related to higher education.
- Collaborate with other campus programs to support at-risk or disadvantaged students.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion principles within educational practices.
- Function effectively as a member of the Student Support Services team.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations to inform staff and engage students.
Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of two to five years in a similar or related role.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or a related discipline.
Interpersonal Skills: The role requires courtesy, tact, and diplomacy, involving significant personal interaction with various stakeholders.
Additional Skills: A high degree of sensitivity to target populations, along with strong verbal, written, and presentation abilities. Personal or professional experience in overcoming barriers similar to those faced by project participants is advantageous.
Physical Requirements: The position is primarily sedentary, with occasional requirements for walking, standing, or light lifting.
Work Environment: Regular exposure to a standard office setting.
Application Process: Candidates must submit an application along with three professional references and copies of transcripts. This position is security-sensitive and will necessitate a criminal background check.
