Senior Associate, Federal Finance Transformation

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate to join our Federal Advisory practice at KPMG. As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in reviewing and evaluating financial risk, financial reporting, and accounting transactions processes for federal entities. Your expertise in federal financial management, reporting, and auditing will be essential in providing guidance to clients on the application of federal standards, policies, regulations, and technical guidance.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough reviews of financial risk, financial reporting, and accounting transactions processes to identify areas for improvement and optimize financial management.
- Provide expert guidance to clients on the application of federal standards, policies, regulations, and technical guidance to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Develop and implement corrective actions for reconciliation issues related to posting logic, USSGL compliance, A-136, and areas within financial management for optimization.
- Assist in generating reports, performing reconciliations, and responding to auditor requests for information.
- Analyze complex accounting issues, accounting methodologies, and their effects on financial statements.
- Contribute to the design, preparation, and analysis of reports and findings in a clear, logical, and concise manner.
- A minimum of three years of experience in federal financial management, reporting, auditing, or audit readiness.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; CPA/CGFM/CDFM certifications preferred.
- Experience in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements for U.S. Federal government entities, with a working knowledge of the USSGL.
- Experience applying FASAB, Treasury, GAO, and OMB regulations.
- Ability to analyze financial and systems processes and controls.
- Ability to travel as required to support firm engagements.
