KPMG is seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate to join our Federal Advisory practice. As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality services to our clients, including financial risk evaluation, financial reporting, and accounting transactions processes.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Risk Evaluation: Review and evaluate financial risk, financial reporting, and accounting transactions processes, including controls related to federal entities.
- Client Guidance: Research and provide guidance to clients on the application of Federal standards, policies, regulations, and technical guidance.
- Corrective Actions: Identify and propose corrective actions for reconciliation issues related to posting logic, USSGL compliance, A-136, and areas within financial management for optimization.
- Engagement Support: Assist engagements in generating reports, performing reconciliations, and responding to auditor requests.
- Accounting Analysis: Perform complex accounting analysis of transactions and balances related to financial statements and trail balances.
- Report Preparation: Contribute to the design, preparation, and analysis of reports and findings in a clear, logical, and concise manner.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in federal financial management, reporting, auditing, or audit readiness.
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; CPA/CGFM/CDFM certifications preferred.
- Skills: Experience in the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements for U.S. Federal government entities; working knowledge of the USSGL.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Experience applying FASAB, Treasury, GAO, and OMB regulations.
- Analytical Skills: Experience analyzing financial and systems processes and controls.
- Travel: Ability to travel as required to support firm engagements.
- Clearance: Applicant must possess a U.S. Government Secret clearance.
