Position Overview:

As a Principal Engineer specializing in the F135 ECU program, you will spearhead the advancement of innovative control systems and components for the F135 engine. Your expertise in control systems and team leadership will be essential in collaborating with stakeholders, fostering innovation, and significantly contributing to the evolution of aerospace technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning, execution, and monitoring of technical components related to ECU Electrical and Sensors Hardware, including various sensor systems and ignition technologies.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, acting as the primary liaison between engineering divisions.
  • Facilitate the resolution of challenges associated with requirements, design, and project timelines.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of technical and programmatic tasks, managing project scope and resource allocation effectively.
  • Enhance collaboration across the organization and mentor Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to promote innovation.
  • Apply insights from the current F135 program to inform the development of the ECU component suite.
  • Organize and direct team meetings, ensuring actionable items are documented and progress is communicated to leadership.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with at least 5 years of experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Person status as defined by regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading team projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful track record in delivering impactful presentations and managing customer relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management.
  • Hands-on experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) or similar financial management techniques.
  • Background in coordinating trade studies and developing basis of estimates for engineering planning.
  • Experience with engine control systems or components.
