Early Childhood Education Lead Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Education Lead Teacher to join our team at Elmcrest Children's Center. As a key member of our preschool program, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment that fosters the growth and well-being of our young students.
Key Responsibilities- Program Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement developmentally appropriate early education programming in conjunction with the teaching team to ensure compliance with the program curriculum and Elmcrest standards.
- Relationship Building: Develop professional, positive, and productive relationships with children, families, agency staff, visitors, outside agencies, and the general public.
- Classroom Environment: Create a welcoming, clean, and orderly classroom environment that is culturally responsive and fosters high expectations for children.
- Child Development: Maintain awareness of and responsibility for the ongoing activity of all children in the room at all times and implement positive classroom management strategies for effective functioning of the classroom.
- Lesson Planning: Develop and implement weekly written lesson plans that follow the program curriculum and reflect instructional activities for all aspects of the school day.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with parents with regular feedback regarding their children, through daily contact, written correspondence, and/or parent conferences.
- Professional Development: Attend meetings as assigned by the Northside Program Administrator and attend training/conferences for continuing professional development.
- Education: An Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in early childhood or a related field, or a CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) or other Office-recognized credential specific to the preschool developmental period.
- Experience: 1 year of experience related to caring for children, or 9 college credits in Early Childhood or related field and 2 years of experience related to caring for children.
- Skills: Ability to present with warmth, nurturing, and kindness; knowledge of child development; experience with preschool and/or young children; and knowledge of OCFS Daycare regulations.
