About California Autism Center

The California Autism Center and Learning Group (CAC) is dedicated to providing individualized, center-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Our approach is supported by data, demonstrating that center-based models are highly effective in fostering growth and development in young clients. We operate in a collaborative environment, offering tailored treatment plans along with supplementary home and community services as required.

Why Choose CAC?

  • Accredited as a Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE), setting us apart in the field of ABA therapy.
  • Our center-based model eliminates the need for travel to clients' homes, maximizing efficiency and time.
  • We prioritize mentorship and professional growth opportunities for our staff.
  • Our workplace culture emphasizes a healthy work/life balance.
Role Responsibilities

As an Autism Support Specialist, you will work directly with children aged 18 months to six years, utilizing a positive and engaging environment to teach essential social, behavioral, and daily living skills. Your role will involve implementing individualized treatment plans, monitoring progress, and collecting data to enhance behavioral outcomes. Performance evaluations will occur quarterly, with opportunities for merit-based salary increases.

Key Duties Include:

  • Providing one-on-one support to clients, documenting skill acquisition and addressing behavioral challenges using iPads for data collection.
  • Exhibiting a positive demeanor, patience, and determination to positively impact children's lives.
Benefits of Joining Our Team:
  • Complimentary in-house RBT training with a high success rate for board certification.
  • Dedicated on-site supervision to ensure consistent support and guidance.
  • Regular performance reviews and team-building activities to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Opportunities for career advancement beyond the RBT role, including positions such as training coordinators and case managers.
  • Supervision for graduate students and ongoing support for RBT certification maintenance.
  • Implementing evidence-based treatment plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
  • A comprehensive training program that pairs new hires with mentors to achieve RBT certification within 90 days.

If you are committed to making a difference in the lives of individuals with behavioral health challenges and possess the qualifications we seek, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; coursework in ABA, psychology, or child development is advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using an Apple iPad for data tracking.
  • Experience working with children with special needs.
  • Availability for a minimum of 16 hours per week in four-hour blocks.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and provide immunization records.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or related fields.
  • Experience working with children in educational or therapeutic settings.
  • Familiarity with applied behavior analysis techniques.
  • Bilingual skills in Hmong, Spanish, or American Sign Language are a plus.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (provided at no cost to new hires).
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance with company contributions.
  • Life and AD&D insurance provided by the organization.
  • Access to supplemental insurance options.
