Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiology Technologist Student to join our team at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington.

Job Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of a Radiological Technologist, perform radiology procedures using judgment to select proper exposure, positioning, and meet patient care needs.
  • Operate equipment and devices utilizing standard procedures, monitor device performance, and ensure functionality.
  • Practice aseptic technique as necessary, assist with contrast media, assist the physician with imaging procedures, initiate life support measures for patients, if necessary, maintain all appropriate and required patient records, and procedure documentation.
  • Transfer patients as necessary.
  • Process images by either automatic film process or digital radiography laser equipment as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be currently enrolled in the last year of an accredited 2-4-year Radiologic Technology Program and be in good standing.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support is required upon hire.
Working Conditions

The Radiology Technologist Student position/status is only granted until 2 months post-graduation date from an accredited Radiologic Technology Program, to allow time to acquire ARRT(R) certification.

Students have Radiology Technology registration until they acquire ARRT (R) certification.

Lifting: Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).

Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.

Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment.

Lift/Carry: Frequently up to 15 lbs. Occasionally up to 30 lbs.

Push/Pull: Frequently up to 13 lbs. force. Occasionally up to 30 lbs. force.

Reaching frequently.

Exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles.

Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).

Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
