Kaiser Permanente is looking for a Radiology Technician to join our team.

Position Overview

The Radiology Technician will be responsible for delivering diagnostic imaging services in a clinical environment. This role encompasses various clerical tasks as needed, ensuring a collaborative atmosphere that aligns with the KPNW Mission and philosophy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic radiological procedures using advanced imaging equipment, tailored to the age and needs of patients, including routine, emergency, portable, surgical, and fluoroscopic examinations in compliance with departmental protocols.
  • Manage image processing and utilize the current RIS and PACS systems effectively. Collaborate with radiologists for film quality assurance and exam clarification as required.
  • Handle patient transport, file management, and inventory restocking. Responsible for patient registration and scheduling.
  • Participate in an on-call or standby schedule as necessary. Perform additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsBasic Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is mandatory.
Licensure and Certification
  • Must possess a Registered Radiologic Technologist certification (Washington) or a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon).
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required at the time of hire.
Additional Skills
  • Proficient in using diagnostic imaging equipment and healthcare computer systems.
  • Exemplary customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all staff.
  • Strong knowledge of radiology equipment and procedures for various examinations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with digital radiographic exams within the last three years.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, including time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with McKesson PACS and EPIC electronic medical records systems.
  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Science or a related field is advantageous.
