Job Summary

We are seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support our Pediatric Walk-In Center. The ideal candidate will have experience working in primary care and be passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including escorting them to the room and obtaining and recording assessment information.
  • Perform screening tests and procedures, and prepare specimens for transport.
  • Ensure clean and stocked exam rooms, and maintain inventory of supplies.
  • Adhere to universal precautions and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform quality control and improvement activities as assigned.
  • Operate and maintain equipment per manufacturer instructions.
  • Complete paperwork and forms as required, including WIC re-certification and immunization data.
  • May work side-by-side with providers as a scribe to chart and enter notes into the EHR system.
  • Coordinate care, including contacting patients regarding missed appointments and test results, and scheduling appointments for outside tests and referrals.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years of experience working in primary care preferred.
  • Completion of a training course resulting in a degree or certificate as a Medical Assistant, CNA, or EMT.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred, with a pay differential offered.
  • All employees at UCFS are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
