Cloud Solutions Architect Specialist

Excentium, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran owned small business (SDVOSB) that specializes in Cyber Security Engineering, Information Assurance (IA), management, Certification and Accreditation (C&A), and various IT services for government and commercial sectors.

We are seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect Specialist to provide support for our government clientele in a remote capacity.

MINIMUM CLEARANCE LEVEL: Public Trust (CBP Active, Highly Desired)
CITIZENSHIP: US Citizenship
LOCATION: Remote.

Customs and Border Protection is focused on developing secure, resilient, and scalable solutions that enhance service delivery, which are essential for modernizing and transforming mission effectiveness. It is crucial to prioritize solutions that enable: creating consistent, standard, reliable, and portable cloud environments, defining container strategies, managing data, supporting continuous operations, ensuring high reliability and availability, maintaining a robust cybersecurity posture, and integrating tagging, tracking, and reporting across multi-cloud and hybrid operational models. This program will provide engineering services for network infrastructure as well as advanced enterprise computing infrastructure, including endpoint devices, data center-hosted servers, multi-cloud services, virtualized applications, and storage systems. Enterprise Computing Engineering services will encompass modern application technologies, including containerized solutions with orchestrated workflows that operate both on-premises and through remote cloud services. Network infrastructure engineering services will include core infrastructure, voice and video engineering, field engineering, application management and development for networks, network analytics, firewalls, network access controls, and bandwidth service delivery. The team will collaborate closely with other teams (e.g., ECIS Scrum Teams, CBP OIT SOC, Application/Service Teams, etc.) to seamlessly integrate security measures (e.g., IAM) into cloud operations, thereby reducing risk and enhancing the overall security posture across all cloud environments utilized by CBP.

Position Description:
  • Act as a technical authority on emerging communication technologies, initiatives, and associated communication programs. Provide strategic input to the agency's long-term planning.
  • Conduct research from various sources, critically analyze the information, and summarize key findings and best practices in an accessible manner for diverse audiences.
  • Oversee the successful integration of multiple systems, platforms, and architectures.
  • Promote the implementation of development best practices throughout the organization while ensuring governance and achievement of objectives.
  • Manage risk, resource allocation, project prioritization, and recommend new systems, software products, and services to ensure business continuity.
Position Requirements:
  • Strong technical expertise in infrastructure, virtualization, network architecture, software development, cloud development, mobile development, scalable architecture, cybersecurity, and agile development methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage risk, resource allocation, project prioritization, and recommend new systems, software products, and services to ensure business continuity.
Educational Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or business administration.
  • 15 years of experience in the information technology applications field or cybersecurity.
  • 5 years of experience in a managerial role.
  • Experience in delivering information technology-related projects.
  • Certified in Emerging TechnologyTM (CET).
  • Blockchain Fundamentals Certificate.
Possess one of the following certifications:
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional.
