About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient admission process for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign accurate Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) and complete medical necessity/compliance checks
  • Provide proper patient instructions, collect insurance information, and receive/process physician orders
  • Utilize an overlay tool to ensure accurate and timely processing of patient information
  • Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls
  • Adhere to policies and provide excellent customer service in all interactions
  • Hold accountability for point of service goals as assigned
  • Conduct audits of accounts and ensure accuracy and timeliness of forms
  • Pre-register patient accounts prior to visits, including inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic and insurance information
  • Explain and distribute patient education documents, including consent forms and important messages from Medicare and Tricare
  • Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems and select applicable insurance plan codes
Requirements
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Certified Registration Coder (CRCR) certification required within 6 months of hire
