Patient Service Representative I

The Patient Service Representative I is a vital role within our healthcare team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support. This position requires a high level of customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Greet and check in patients, verifying and updating insurance information and confirming other patient details
• Schedule patient appointments, answer phones, and update demographic information
• Process referrals, payment collection and posting, charge reconciliation, and chart preparation
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with patients, physicians, and hospital staff
• Participate in problem-solving groups and attend all practice staff meetings
Requirements
• High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
• Ability to prioritize and perform multiple duties simultaneously, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficiency in practice software and registration tools, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems
• Ability to work in a team environment, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and support
Working Conditions
• May require driving to perform responsible duties
• Prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional lifting and moving of less than 20 pounds
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of adaptability and flexibility
