Job Summary

The Chief Marketing Officer will lead all efforts to sell tickets and establish the theatre's image and positioning in the market, including brand awareness. The role is crucial to building the image of the Auditorium as the destination for world-class, diverse entertainment in Chicago.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marketing Strategy Development: Plan, implement, and oversee all marketing and advertising campaigns with the consistent objective of audience growth.
  • Sales and Public Relations: Lead sales and public relations efforts to align objectives of exposing our entertainment offerings to the broadest audience possible.
  • Marketing Team Management: Develop and support the in-house marketing team, including all media efforts and initiatives.
  • External Partnerships: Build a network of reliable external agencies and marketing professionals to implement as needed.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research and stay current on all colleague theatre efforts and positioning in the market.
  • Brand Positioning: Implement the brand guide to clearly position the Auditorium as the leader in the market with the greatest variety and diversity of entertainment of any theater in Chicago.
  • Programming and Calendar Growth: Contribute to new programming and calendar growth initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Excellent budget management and reconciling skills.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Experience: 8 years of proven experience in a marketing manager or business development role.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and leadership skills; nurturing and developing all direct reports. Creative and entrepreneurial spirit. Exceptional knowledge of marketing techniques and platforms.
