Senior Manager, Convention Sales

About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Convention Sales to join our team at Destination Cleveland. As a key member of our Sales department, you will play a critical role in promoting and selling Cleveland as a convention and event destination, helping us achieve our mission of driving economic impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic proactive prospecting sales plan to secure large-scale bookings, manage complex bookings from start to finish, and cultivate new markets and generate leads.
- Meet established goals for monthly, quarterly, and annual quotas, while maintaining a thorough working knowledge of intra-city facilities, attractions, and services available in the area to customers.
- Represent Destination Cleveland at events and industry groups to generate interest in Cleveland and promote booked events, while maintaining high visibility for the organization through professional and trade association memberships.
- Work closely with the Convention Services team to ensure smooth transitions of booked business, and maintain a professional image and manner with customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of sales account experience, or 8+ years of equivalent relevant work experience.
- A proven track record of hunting for new business and expert-level relationship building and management experience and skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with approximately 10% travel, including by air.
