POSITION SUMMARY
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is in search of qualified individuals for the role of Administrative Assistant within the Community Engagement sector, specifically focusing on Learning Services. This is a part-time position with a commitment of 19 hours per week. Candidates may be considered for additional roles in different sections of the library system as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide essential support to the Learning Services unit, which includes managing volunteer assignments and tracking their hours.
- Utilize Microsoft Access for data entry and to generate statistical reports, ensuring accurate tracking of program participation and volunteer engagement.
- Maintain and update Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for monitoring attendance, survey results, and inventory of educational materials.
- Handle general clerical duties, including managing a multi-line phone system and ordering necessary resources.
- Assist in coordinating and implementing various Library Learning Services programs and resources.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should possess a minimum of two years of relevant clerical or administrative experience. Preferred qualifications include:
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Associate's Degree or equivalent higher education.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
- Customer service experience and proficiency in multiple languages are advantageous.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role primarily involves sedentary work with occasional physical demands, such as lifting light objects. The position is designed to foster a collaborative and supportive atmosphere, aligning with Broward County's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
