Job Summary

As a Correctional Treatment Specialist with the Bureau of Prisons, you will play a critical role in fostering a humane and secure environment within our correctional institutions. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the Case Management Coordinator (CMC) at a federal correctional institution, ensuring the successful reentry of individuals into our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a current knowledge of available correctional programs, techniques, and resources to provide technically accurate assistance, guidance, and information to staff.
  • Develop and issue local program policies and procedures to ensure the implementation of BOP policies at the institutional level.
  • Assist in the development of local program policies and procedures, including the formulation of institution supplements.
  • Participate in internal audits of case management and correctional systems programs to assess policy compliance.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must have a degree that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

This position is not included in the bargaining unit. The representative rate for this position is $95,657 per annum ($45.83 per hour). Special conditions of employment apply, including a one-year probationary period and the requirement to complete a urinalysis, physical, and background investigation.
