Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Correctional Treatment Specialist to join our team at the Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System. As a key member of our institution's administration, you will play a critical role in fostering a humane and secure environment, ensuring public safety, and preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the institution's administration in maintaining a current knowledge of available correctional programs, techniques, and resources.
  • Develop and issue local program policies and procedures to ensure BOP policies are properly implemented at the institutional level.
  • Participate in internal audits of case management and correctional systems programs to assess policy compliance.
  • Assist in the development of local program policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • A degree in a behavioral or social science field, or a combination of education and experience that provided applicants with knowledge of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a 4-year degree.
  • At least one year of specialized experience in correctional systems management, including knowledge of correctional treatment and correctional systems management philosophies, management techniques, and security requirements.
  • Experience in correctional systems management, including inmate admission and release systems, physical processing of inmates, prevention of the introduction of contraband, judgment and commitment records, and coordination of transfers.
