Position Overview:

This role is pivotal in representing the company's offerings, utilizing technical, organizational, and customer service expertise to ensure effective management of operations and maintenance tasks at designated facilities.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operational activities within a designated region.
  • Assess work requirements, develop proposals for work authorization, and monitor workflow and progress.
  • Support Environmental Compliance through reporting, facility inspections, and addressing regulatory inquiries.
  • Maintain dual Florida Operator Certifications in Water and Wastewater.
  • Provide annual recommendations for Capital Improvement Planning for each facility.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Supervise and schedule operators, stepping in during emergencies or absences as necessary.
  • Assist in proposal development and client meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures while performing additional job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of administration, management, and operations within water and wastewater sectors, including familiarity with mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues within water treatment facilities.
  • Awareness of public safety regulations and security protocols.
  • Capacity to coordinate actions, manage time effectively, and oversee staff resources.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English.
  • Effective communication skills with clients, staff, and management, including the ability to interpret technical blueprints.
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, Word, Project, and CMMS databases.
Working Conditions:

Special Requirements:
  • A valid Driver's License is essential; candidates must obtain and maintain necessary certifications as mandated by the State of Florida.
  • Active Florida Drinking Water and Wastewater licenses are required.
  • Intermediate computer skills with software such as Microsoft Project, Excel, and GIS.
  • Preferred experience in Operations and Maintenance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in Water Plant Operations, including at least three years in a supervisory capacity. Relevant vocational training or education may substitute for up to two years of experience.
