We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Coding Specialist to join our team at Piedmont Healthcare. This role is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and coding medical record documentation with precision and accuracy.

Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for abstracting demographic and coding information into the information system accurately and completely. You will review documentation for medical necessity and audit orders and claims before submission to minimize claim denials.

  • You will assess records and prepare reports to provide valuable insights to healthcare professionals.
  • Provide technical guidance to physicians and other departmental staff in identifying and resolving issues or errors related to coding.
  • Develop effective working relationships with physicians and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

The primary coding responsibility in this role is all Evaluation and Management (E/M) leveling along with additional ancillary services done in an office setting.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong foundation in coding principles and practices. A minimum education requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent is necessary. While experience is not required, having one or more certifications such as CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, or CCS-P is highly preferred.

Coding experience, particularly in a remote setting, is also a plus. If you possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, we encourage you to apply.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $65,000 per year, based on industry standards and market conditions.
