Clinical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team. As an Inpatient Coder, you will be responsible for applying your coding expertise to review and analyze clinical data in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have experience in inpatient auditing, high acuity settings, trauma care, and rehabilitation. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate coding and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Log in to work queues and start applying codes
- Defend audits and maintain high-quality coding standards
- Write queries to request additional information from physicians, facilitating accurate coding and reimbursement
- Collaborate with CDI teams to review and question queries
Technical Requirements
- Proficient in 3M encoding software and EPIC EMR systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Work Environment
- Work across multiple regional and university facilities, requiring flexibility and adaptability
- Average length of stay: 3-5 days (varies)
