Position Summary
- Conduct service and programming tasks related to Building Automation Systems (BAS), ensuring effective communication with clients while diagnosing and resolving issues with industrial and commercial equipment.
- Program controllers based on Tridium and ABB technologies to ensure optimal sequencing.
- Manage the transition of retrofitted control systems while maintaining operational HVAC/R equipment.
- Execute scheduled maintenance activities as outlined.
- Oversee equipment and control startup processes, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
- Perform quality assurance inspections to uphold standards.
- Engage in technical troubleshooting and diagnostics of BAS control systems.
- Assist field personnel in accurately completing necessary documentation and provide support to relevant departments.
- Deliver training to owners as required.
- Make timely BAS control decisions that align with the company's best interests.
- Follow up on service requests and project progress related to BAS.
- Support the training of service technicians.
- Collaborate with Account Managers or Service Writers on pricing when necessary.
- Guide field staff in executing any or all of the tasks mentioned above.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work under indirect supervision.
- Proven experience with Tridium Niagara control systems.
- Familiarity with ABB (formerly Cylon) control systems.
- Knowledge of BACnet and Modbus communication protocols.
- Understanding of electrical circuits.
- Capability to interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience in programming BAS systems.
- Ability to devise innovative solutions to encountered challenges.
- Independently manage most assignments with minimal guidance.
- Seek assistance for complex issues and obtain supervisor approval for standard modifications.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
