About the Role

As a Controls Engineer at Tetra Tech, Inc., you will be responsible for designing and implementing automation systems for various industries. Your expertise in PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems will enable you to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer requirements. You will work on a variety of projects, from conceptualization to implementation, and will have the opportunity to lead a team of engineers and technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery.
  • Develop control system architecture, select components, and create system documentation.
  • Program controllers (PLC, DCS, RTU) and process visualization (HMI/SCADA).
  • Implement and commission control systems at client facilities.
  • Utilize controller programming languages (Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text) to achieve desired results.
  • Design and implement industrial networking solutions using Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.
  • Manage projects, including developing execution plans, work breakdown structures, budgets, task prioritization, scheduling, and time tracking.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years' experience in industries such as Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater, Mining Life Sciences, Building Automation, Manufacturing, and Food & Beverage.
  • Experience in the design of electrical schematics, including power distribution under 480VAC, control panels, and associated NEC references.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Experience leading a team of engineers/technicians to provide control system solutions.
  • Experience mentoring less experienced engineers.
