Job Summary:

As a key member of our culinary team, the Executive Sous Chef will oversee and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring the highest quality food production and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage inventory, ordering, and food costs.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for high-quality food production and presentation
  • Oversee inventory, ordering, and food cost management
  • Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and counseling kitchen staff
  • Conduct performance reviews and lead meetings
  • Innovate and improve efficiency, costs, and quality
  • Ensure adherence to recipe guidelines and food safety standards
  • Lead the team in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Follow safe food handling guidelines and perform regular safety and maintenance walk-throughs
  • Follow all sanitation and nutrition practices
  • Oversee and assist the kitchen staff in all aspects of food production
  • Conduct inventory and manage all kitchen costs
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' related progressive experience as a high-level Sous, CDC, Exec Sous, Kitchen Manager, or similar role
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and time management
  • Ability to interface with various levels of management
  • Strong familiarity with OSHA and local Department of Health Regulations
  • PC literate with a working knowledge of Outlook, Esysco, and MS Excel preferred
  • Degree in Culinary Arts preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate in English
Physical Demands:
  • Physical demands include light work, prolonged walking and/or standing along with the occasional exertion of up to 40lbs of force
