Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a dedicated Structural/Bridge Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in bridge design to join our established transportation practice. In this role, you will:
- Lead the structural design and analysis of bridges, ensuring high-quality construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on various projects, including bridge, roadway, traffic, rail, site, and public transit.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, enhancing their technical and interpersonal skills.
- Engage in project pursuits, including preparing qualifications and technical proposals, and developing scopes of service and fee proposals.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant bridge design experience.
- Professional Engineer registration in Pennsylvania.
- Experience with basic bridge design, including concrete structures and retaining walls.
- Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of PennDOT design, rating, and inspection programs, along with engineering design software such as AutoCAD.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace that values diversity and equity.
Preferred Qualifications:
We would appreciate additional qualifications such as:
- A Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Experience with advanced bridge design techniques, including steel girders and substructures.
- Completion of relevant safety inspection courses for in-service bridges.
- Familiarity with advanced structural software (CSiBridge, Midas, STAAD, SAP, etc.).
Work Environment:
The work environment may involve exposure to mechanical parts and outdoor conditions. Employees may experience moderate noise levels, with potential exposure to construction-related sounds. Physical demands include standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
